Gmail app update 3.0 is available now
Gmail app update 3.0 is now available for iOS. Highlighted feature improvements include both a simplified method of signing in and a background refresh feature.   In fact, as one early online reviewer put it, users are now able to download the update âon the platform of their greatest rivalâ.
Early reviews report that the Gmail update 3.0 starts things off on a good note from the very beginning. The new and improved simplified sign-in feature makes it easier than ever to use a number of other apps including the likes of Chrome, Drive, Maps and of course Gmail. Users now will only be required to sign in once and the Gmail app update will allow access to all of them.
Owners of iPads and iPhones will now be able to make good use of âemail refreshâ which reportedly functions even if the app itself is closed or not otherwise in use. Users will no longer have to open the app in order to download and/or access their e-mail. Instead users will now find all their e-mail already waiting for them.
The Gmail app update background refresh feature is also receiving positive reviews in terms of effectiveness and convenience. The background refresh function automatically checks for new incoming e-mail every couple of minutes. It gathers new messages without the user needing to do anything although critics are quick to note that the feature uses more power and drains battery life quicker.
The Gmail app update does require the userâs device to be running iOS 7. Additionally, one type of notification must also be on to implement the update. While the Gmail app update is indeed still very new initial reactions to the app are generally positive.
