Fort Hood shooter made 21 requests during his imprisonment

Another of the Fort Hood shooterâs requests was for the companyâs name who provided the cheese for his sandwiches
Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter, has made many requests while awaiting trial. One of these requests was for a Bible.
The Fort Hood shooter, Nidal Hasan, killed 13 people in 2009. Hasan walked into a medical readiness building with two guns and multiple magazine clips and shouted âAllahu Akbar!â â" Arabic for âGod is great!â â" and opened fire on the waiting soldiers.
The former Army psychiatrist was held at the Bell County Jail for almost 4 years while awaiting his court-martial this past August. Nidal Hasan was sentenced to death.
The Fort Hood shooter made 21 requests during his four year imprisonment.
Nidal Hasan is a Muslim. He insisted on keeping his beard throughout his trial as an expression of his faith. He also requested a clock in order to keep track of his daily prayers.
Another request  that Nidal Hasan reportedly made was, âPlease tell me the name of the company that produces the white cheese on my sandwiches; also the type of cheese i.e. mozzarella.â
Nidal Hasanâs civil lawyer stated that the request regarding the cheese was most likely made to determine whether Nidal Hasanâs food was being prepared to his Islamic dietary standards.
Galligan believes that the expenditures of imprisonment were âoverkillâ stating, âI mean, itâs just a bunch of overkill. Overreach. Unnecessary funds that were spent.â
When Nidal Hasan requested a Bible, he added, âPlease send a knowledgeable person to answer my difficult questions, as well as a paperback copy for my personal use.â
Nidal Hasan described himself at trial as a soldier who âswitched sidesâ in a supposed war between America and Islam. Government lawyers also said Hasan did not want to go on an impending deployment to Afghanistan.
