Will Led Zeppelin release new albums?
Will Led Zeppelin release new albums and solo material? The bandâ"once consisting of: Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals), John Paul Jones (bass guitar and keyboards) and John Bonham (percussion)â"came to an abrupt end with Bonhamâs death in 1980 but their music lives on to this day. Page, who has been working on remastering the original albums, admits that the process is taking longer than expected.
Nevertheless, he still hopes that at least a few of the completed remasters will still hit stores this year. He stated online: âThe first of the Led Zeppelin reissues â" comprising of âLed Zeppelin I,â âLed Zeppelin IIâ and âLed Zeppelin IIIâ â" will be released this year.â
Fans were initially âDazed and Confusedâ by the news that the entire original catalog would not be released in 2014 as Page first said. But sometimes âThatâs the Wayâ it is. People in the industryâs marketing side, of course understand the amendment in Pageâs predicted release schedule.
The label, Atlantic Records, can use additional time to properly promote each release. Furthermore, extending release dates shouldnât be much of a âHeartbreakerâ because this reduces Atlanticâs risk of flooding the market with so many Led Zeppelin boxed remasters that fans of the band wonât be able to purchase all of them.
While Page has been very clear in boasting that the new versions sound vastly better, he and the surviving band members have not revealed any specific details regarding the contents of each released box. Naturally, rumors of unreleased material abounds.
Page also stated: âIâve also been working on some of my own material from the archives that will be unleashed in 2014.â Considering how sporadically he has put out his solo works in the past, his fans are hopeful and confident considering the general belief that Page has a significant supply of tapes stashed away in his personal vaults.   Donât worry Zep lovers, the remasters are not really âOver the Hills and Far Awayâ. Besides, everyone knows âThe Song Remains the Sameâ.
