Will Fleetwood Mac play again?
Will Fleetwood Macâs John McVie return?
Fleetwood Mac is back. Mick Fleetwood (drums), Lindsey Buckingham (guitar and vocals), and Stevie Nicks (vocals) will return to take the stage once more for the first time since bassist John McVie was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. The band will perform at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas tonight and for a private gig at an undisclosed location on New Yearâs Eve.
The group announced the cancellation of their November tour of Australia and New Zealand this past October due to John McVie having to undergo cancer treatments. While sources the band made no announcements regarding the specific type of cancer McVie was suffering from or even the chances of the bass playerâs full recovery, he is obviously well enough to play these two dates.
Vocalist Stevie Nicks told ABC News Radio that she felt returning to the stage will be âreally good for John,â and will help âget back on the treadmill.â In fact, the band has also just booked a third private concert date on January 8, 2014 at yet another undisclosed location.
Unfortunately for Fleetwood Mac fans, the groupâs future still remains uncertain due to McVieâs health issues. However, it is very possible that should McVie be up to it their next project will include Christine McVie (keyboards and vocals) who bailed on the band in 1998 but recently reunited with them to perform a few songs earlier this year.
Will Fleetwood Mac play again? Yes, but for how long remains to be seen.
