Tuesday marked the one-year anniversary of the tragic bombing that killed three and injured over 200 people near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. A special ceremony was held at the finish line earlier in the day to honor the victims. The White Sox and Red Sox held a special ceremony to remember and honor the victims as well.

On a day that is supposed to about remembering and honoring those that needlessly suffered there has to be one person that decides to disrupt the day in the worst way possible.

He left a couple of backpacks near the finish line.

Security is heightened of course and the culpritâ€"25-year old Kayvon Edsonâ€"was easily found and taken in to custody. Authorities evacuated the area around the finish line where the bags were left and stopped service to the Green Line. Around 9 PM ET the first bag was detonated (as a precaution) and the other about 40 minutes later.

As it turns out there wasn’t any actual danger; this was just someone screaming for attention and going after it in the worst way possible. The bags contained rice cookers full of confetti.

Edson has been charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and possession of a hoax device.

For Monday’s race the police have asked that people leave any and all backpacks and bags at home. If they must have a bag they have requested people use clear plastic bags. Over a million people are expected to line the 26.2 mile course that more than 36,000 runners will attempt to complete.

Around 3500 police officersâ€"more than double last year’s numberâ€"will be on duty during the race.
