North Korea is calling Seth Rogen and James Francoâs latest film, âThe Interviewâ an act of war. They are demanding that the film be banned from theater release.
The film that stars the two funnymen centers around two journalist who are told by the CIA to assassinate the Korean president. North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un is more than displeased by the film and is planning âmercilessâ retaliation upon its release.
A foreign ministry called Rogen a âgangster filmmakerâ. Kim Myong-chol, who is the North Korean governmentâs unofficial spokesman is calling the United States desperate.
âThere is a special irony in this story line as it shows the desperation of the US government and the American society,â said Myong-chol during an interview with Telegragh. âA film about assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what he US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine. And let us not forget who killed (President John F.) Kennedy â" Americans. In fact, President Obama should be careful in case the US military wants to kill him as well.â
In conclusion he went on to say, âThe act of making and screening such a movie that portrays an attack on our top leadership is a most wanton act of terror and act of war, and is absolutely intolerable,â according to AFP.
There is no official word on rather or not the comedy âThe Interviewâ will be banned. The Columbia pictures film is still set to be released this coming October.
Rogen appeared to not budge by the recent threat from the Korean government. He tweeted, âApparently Kim Jong Un plans on watching #TheInterview. I hope he likes it!!â
