30 day window open to applicants for pot dispensaries
Pot dispensaries arenât quite united in the tooth and nail battle over licensure. Washington state has been flooded with hundreds of prospective pot dispensaries seeking a claim in the market of legal marijuana sales. The range of applicants for these marijuana licenses range from pastry chefs to real estate agents to farmers and more!
The only rules in regards to applying to become a marijuana distributor are living in the state for more than three months, passing a background check, and raising money within the state.
The state of Washington was one of the first states to legalize marijuana for recreational use in 2012. Licensure of pot dispensaries began a few days ago and caps after a thirty day window. Some of the concerns regarding the legalization of marijuana have been how to regulate sales, whether to tax or not, and if retail stores should be available. Regardless of difficulties, both now and upcoming, the fact remains that numerous pot dispensaries are hopefully awaiting an answer.
Here are some of the applicantsâ stories:
Bruce King was an early employee of Microsoft, however left and acquired two of his own businesses. Once setting up his businesses to continue success through the right management, he went on to raise pigs. Bruce King sees marijuana as a crop to profit from.
Marla Molly Poiset, a previous home furnishing store owner, sold her stores and went on to become a world traveler. Finally settling in Paris for some time, she attended culinary arts school. If selected, Marla Molly Poiset intends on creating marijuana infused chocolate truffles among other delightful confections for those in the market for marijuana in the not so traditional sense.
Angel Swanson used to be entirely anti-illegal drugs until faced with a daughter who had digestive issue which prevented her from gaining weight. Her daughter returned home one day after eating a cookie baked with cannabis, and ate until full! Since the event, Angel Swanson researched marijuana and decided that it could indeed be used for benefit. She hopes to help others as well as sell for recreational use.
Over the next month, these hopeful pot dispensaries should receive their answers on whether they have been selected as one of the legal âpot farmersâ in the state.
