A new Michael Jackson album entitled ‘Xscape’ will be released May 13th. According to the record company, Epic, the king of pop’s new album will offer eight new tracks for fans to enjoy.
The album art for this album has been released by the company as well. Jackson can be seen peeking over a silver and rainbow colored, futuristic costume.
The new music has a few major names behind it’s sound including Timbaland, who has worked with the likes of Brandy Norwood, the late Aaliyah and of course Justin Timberlake. Record Executive L.A. Reid is also behind the new project.
Epic’s website released the following statement; “After mining the Estate of Jackson’s archives, Reid was granted unlimited access to the treasures spanning four decades of material on which Jackson had completed his vocals. Reid then teamed up with top producers to ‘contemporize’ the songs while retaining Jackson’s essence and integrity, creating the best music you’ve ever heard.â€
L.A. Reid released a statement in addition to the label’s stating, “Modern music and artistry would look and sound completely different if not for the groundbreaking contributions Michael Jackson gifted to the world. Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with.â€
Michael Jackson passed back in 2009 from a deadly anesthetic. The 13 time Grammy winner left behind a major legacy and continues to live on through his fans, controversial family and his music of course.
The company will released a standard version of the album and a deluxe version which will offer a stripped version of Jackson’s vocals accompanied with piano. No track list has been released just yet for the album but fans can pre-order the album April 1st.
