UGG boots are hot!
Numerous online sources reveal that UGG Boots were one of the biggest selling items during the recent Black Friday sales. In fact, if sales since then are any indication the Australian footwear will continue to be popular choices for Christmas gifts this holiday season and, according to Google, the most searched fashion item.
According to sources at ABC News, UGG boots are hot and âhere to stay.â The sheepskin boots âjust will not go awayâ and were actually âthe fourth most searched-for item on Black Fridayâ falling behind video game consoles, tablets and Minecraft Legos according to SearchEngineLand.  ABC Newsâ âSocial Climberâ claims she bought her âfourth pairâ recently adding: âTheyâre just so warm and fuzzy!â
The unisex boots have a cloudy origin between Australia and New Zealand. While generic sheepskin boots date back to the 920s âdown underâ, the first full-scale manufacturing of the boots occurred in New South Wales in 1933. However, Frank Mortel of Mortels Sheepskin Factory said he was the first manufacturer of UGG boots having named has stated that he began manufacturing the boots in early 1958. He called them âugg bootsâ because his spouse said the prototype was âugly.â
Opinions on why UGG boots are hot vary. While owners of UGGs claim they are sharp not sloppy and warm but yet not too bulky, there must be other reasons the boots are begged for besides comfort. Other UGG owners note that they enjoy the âmoc toe lace-up designâ. Yet others mention the merino wool knit lining and that unlike Chelsea boots, the wearer can adjust the fit with the laces.
Perhaps the popularity of the boot can be traced to several sources. The boots have been featured in fashion layouts by such designers as Jimmy Choo. They have also been seen on such âceleb pedsâ as actress Sarah Jessica Parker and singer Kylie Minogue.
There is even a Yahoo fetish group specifically for people who love women in the famous footwear. Whatever the fascination with the âsheepyâ shoes, one thing is certain; UGG boots are more than warm. UGG boots are âhotâ for the holidays.
