Nikki Sixx disses âDuck Dynastyâ Dad
What did Nikki Sixx say about Phil Robertson? Motley Crue band member Nikki Sixx jumped on the Duck Dynasty Dad Dissing Bandwagon last night to criticize Duck Dynastyâs Phil Robertson for what some label âracist and homophobic quotesâ he recently made in an interview with GQ magazine.
The bad boy bassist blasted out five back-to-back tweets on Twitter referencing Robertsonâs recent remarks in which the A&E showâs self-described âwhite trashâ patriarch offered his homespun wisdom on sinful behavior. Robertson remarked: âStart with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.â
Robertson recalled that he never saw any âmistreatment of any black personâ while growing up in Louisiana. He stated: âPre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? âThey were godly, they were happy; no one was singing the blues.â
Sixx, who has since removed said tweets, commented on the more controversial of Robertsonâs quotes saying: âNow that the head Duck on Duck Dynasty has revealed his inner aâ"hole I have to return all these DD chia pets I was giving for Xmas gifts.â
Sixx also slammed Robertson on his opinions of race and homosexuality. Sixx claimed: âPhil Robertson calling homosexuality sinfulâ was equivalent to âputting gay people in same category as terroristsâ. He closed his now removed remarks with: âFreedom of H8 speech? # Come on guys.#NOH8.â
While A&E, the cable network that airs âDuck Dynasty,â indefinitely suspended Robertson following his comments, Robertson has quickly gained a large following of free speech supporters including Sarah and Bristol Palin. There is currently a growing grassroots campaign in the media. There is even an online petition demanding an end to the suspension.
This reporter can only question the motives of celebrities on both sides of the issue and remind everyone that free speech is not always pretty. At the same time, Robertson should long ago have read the fine print in his contract. Free speech means nothing when you sign your rights away for fifteen minutes of fame.
